Project summary

Prevention of Chronic Childhood Malnutrition and Adolescent Pregnancy.

The project seeks to implement comprehensive interventions through co-creation strategies framed in strategic alliances that allow the formation and formation of action circles of different members of the community to empower and promote co-responsibility in the prevention of adolescent pregnancy (EA) and chronic child malnutrition (DCI).

Working with an educational approach and promoting sustainable development, the aim is to achieve a lasting and positive impact that promotes co-responsibility and active participation of local stakeholders. Within this framework, FdW Ecuador and Fundación Wong, both of similar origins and goals, have strategically allied to implement the “Growing is my Commitment” program in the educational institutions where Fundación Wong intervenes in order to work in the following three areas:

Capacity building: in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and child nutrition to prevent adolescent pregnancy (AE) and chronic malnutrition in children (CIN).
Consolidation of the co-creation strategy: through strategic alliances of shared value with local entities from different sectors.
Promotion of action circles: as a means of empowerment and sustainable accompaniment of the project’s target and target population.

General Objective

ZTo promote the co-responsibility of the educational community of 3 educational units and 4 child development centers located in the cantons of Buena Fe and Valencia in the province of Los Ríos, through training, strategic alliances and the creation of group spaces in order to prevent teenage pregnancy and chronic child malnutrition, over a period of 18 months.

Specific objectives

ZStrengthen cognition in SRH and child nutrition to prevent adolescent pregnancy (AE) in three educational units and chronic child malnutrition (CIN) in four IDUs where FW intervenes.
ZPromote the empowerment of the target and target population through the creation and monitoring of 7 action circles, one for each EU and IDC involved.
ZConsolidate the co-creation strategy, based on strategic alliances of shared value with local entities from different sectors present in the canton of Valencia and the canton of Buena Fe.
