PreNatal Program

The PreNatal Program aims to promote responsible and healthy behavioral changes among women, families, and communities to prevent diseases and deficiencies that could cause disabilities in children, both during the prenatal period and in early childhood. This program focuses specifically on preventing health problems such as prematurity, emotional and cognitive impairments, and other conditions that affect child development.

The persistent social inequality in our region makes it necessary to take action in the most disadvantaged geographic regions.

Training in the PreNatal Program

The PreNatal Program aims to train agents of change capable of effectively intervening in the prenatal and postnatal prevention of diseases and deficiencies, fostering a culture of health and well-being in communities. We provide specialized training for mediators and promoters at three levels:

Basic Level
Medium Level

The Basic Level trains community and health workers, nursing assistants, youth and neighborhood leaders, students, community leaders, and anyone interested in bringing about positive changes in society to prevent disabilities and build capacity within their community.
The promoters trained at the Basic Level maintain a permanent commitment to their role as social educators and to the network of prenatal prevention of disabilities maintained by the de Waal Foundation in the region.
